iCare Never Stops
China is one of the countries who have successfully stopped the spreading of Covid-19, thanks to its full lockdown policy. In Beijing, the capital of China, the daily case of Covid-19 has dropped to zero as per this month. Its residents have resumed their regular daily lives and schools have opened as per usual. However like in most parts of the world, life resumes in the “new normal”. Strict health procedures such as keeping safe distance, using masks and body temperature checking are in place.
As for IFGF Beijing, the church is still conducting online service following other international churches in Beijing. The majority of IFGF Beijing members are international students who are still residing overseas due to current travelling regulations. Online platforms become a way for the members to stay in touch with each other.
To cater for those who are overseas, IFGF Beijing has a weekly Zoom meeting on Thursday to disciple their members. The pastoral team believes that being overseas should not hinder their members to keep growing and being discipled. By using the astonishing technology currently available, we should be more zealous in spreading the gospel.
However there is a struggle in the number of attendees for IFGF Beijing iCare. Before the pandemic 10-15 people attended the iCare but now the number is decreasing because some of the members joined local churches in their own countries. Although the attendees are less and the iCare was even put on halt for a few months, IFGF Beijing pastoral team are working to revive the iCare. They are devoted to disciple those who are faithful in attending the online iCare.
In the midst of uncertain situations like this, we have an even bigger reason to remain in God and to attend meetings with fellow believers. Being in the right community like iCare can help us to stay on the right path as we pray and encourage each other.
We encourage everyone to be a part of an iCare and to continue growing in Christ.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
