The Truth on Life, Love and Sex
On 9-11 July, No Apologies held a webinar for young adults aged 12-21 year old. The theme of this webinar was The Truth on Life, Love and Sex and delivered by competent respondents. This theme was proven to be interesting as 538 people enthusiastically joined the webinar. 117 of them were IFGF members.
On the first session on Thursday, 9 July, Ps. Garry Kurniawan and Priscilla Paay talked about True Identity. In the session which was moderated by Wiky Senjani, participants were reminded that each person is created unique, whole, precious and has a bright future. It is the truth that each person is special and unique and thus, it is important to nurture good characters and to be wise in choosing friends. The Bible reminded us that bad company corrupts good characters. The speakers also shared about the importance of goals setting in life. Setting goals and dreaming about future achievements will help us to focus especially when obstacles and hardships come along the way.
The second session on Friday, 10 July, Bryan Samuel shared about Media and You with Ps. Nicky Tangkilisan as the moderator. Bryan Samuel reminded participants that humans are social beings not social media beings. Great wisdom should be applied in using social media to prevent addiction, especially with the danger of game and pornography which can lead to brain damage. Pornography addiction can even lead to sexual perversion.
On the last session on Saturday, 11 July, Ps. Victor Repi and Teofani Budiono discussed Real Love with Nicky Tangkilisan as moderator. The speakers affirmed the importance of boundaries in love to avoid regrets, problems, physical and emotional destruction. Sex is unequal to love as true love will wait for the right person at the right time. The consequences of sex before married is not only pregnancy but also emotional scar such as feeling unworthy and scared of commitment. There is also a possibility to be infected by sexually transmitted diseases. As discussed earlier, as a special and unique person, we need to guard our purity.
Thank you to the speakers and participants who took part in this webinar. May God help us in keeping our life pure for His glory.
