Pray Without Ceasing and Give Thanks in All Circumstances
As Covid pandemic moves around the globe and pushes countries to go into “lockdown”, IFGF Faisalabad, Pakistan, under the pastoring of Ps. Parvez Yousaf (Saudi Arabia) distributed relief packages to those in need. IFGF Beracah assisted widows, orphans and families who went through financial hardship by distributing food to them. The aid was not limited to IFGF members and fellow believers but also to the Moslems.
Ps. Parvez also shared his testimony on a miracle he experienced on 25 April 2020. That day Ps. Parvez visited 3 families in a day and God’s mighty hands protected Ps. Parvez as he wasn’t stopped at any of the checkpoints and could have a smooth trip. On the same day, Ps. Parvez just finished a teaching on praying. One of his main points was that prayer is an avenue to find an answer to our problems. Other points explained were the basic forms of prayers which are praise, petitions, supplication, intercession and thanksgiving. Ps. Parvez also explained that prayer is an act that seeks to activate a deliberate communication.
In May, Ps. Parvez shared 2 different topics to IFGF Beracah. On 1 May, the sermon was from Jeremiah 7:23 which talked about the impact of obeying God’s commandments in our life. How our life would be rewarded when we demonstrate our faith in God. Then on 6 May, Ps. Parvez shared about “better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred” (Proverbs 15:17). He explained that the verse reminds us to be grateful with God’s blessings upon our life and highlighted that the blessings need to be shared with those in need, especially during this difficult situation. Even a small serving of blessing is better when it’s shared with love.
