IFGF CARE FOR COVID-19 GLOBAL MOVEMENT

IFGF CARE FOR COVID-19 GLOBAL MOVEMENT

Uncertainty. An appropriate word to describe circumstances such as these, with many needing help as they become overcome by worry and anxiety due to personal hardships. It is for these reasons that the Church is called to become the rock in these uncertain times; to be the light in the darkness.

In his prophecy, which is relevant now more than ever, Isaiah 60:1-2 states, ‘Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.’ (NIV)

Through IFGF’s Care for Covid-19 global movement, pastors and leaders are mobilising members to help raise funds to buy staple goods, masks, medical equipment, amongst other items, to distribute to the those in the community in need, regardless of their beliefs.

The movement continues to impact multiple communities in ways that have only garnered positive response after positive response. Moreover, IFGF members all over the world continue to collaborate to donate more goods and necessities to be distributed. It’s times like where we can all better understand and experience the early church and their attitude of giving to those in need as stated in Acts 4:34-35:

“.. there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need..” (NIV)

The following is a list of Care for Covid-19 activities tracked from several IFGF churches around the world from the last 2 months. We strongly believe that there are many more activities that have yet to be taken into account.

  1. Distribution of 2500 masks to communities around Los Angeles, USA

  9. Food assistance in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia
