2 months have passed since many regions in Indonesia initiated large-scale social restriction (PSBB) in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19 however the positive cases are still prevalent. Due to this lengthened social restriction, economic impact to some Indonesians is unfortunately inevitable.
Due to this situation, IFGF Toronto in Canada joined forces with one of the senior pastors, Ps Henry and Mrs Lidya Suhardy, to raise funds for those who lived in Tanjung Balai Karimun (Riau Islands, Indonesia). This raised fund is entrusted to Ps Francklin Palempung who is one of the pastors in IFGF Tanjung Balai Karimun and his team to be distributed to those in need of basic necessities. The people of Tanjung Balai Karimun are very grateful and touched through this giving.
It is by God’s grace that the fund has supported 115 families including the non-Christians in Tanjung Balai Karimun. The goods distributed include grocery (rice, cooking oil, eggs, milk, biscuits, etc.) and personal care products (soap, toothpaste, sanitizer, etc.).
Previously in 2019 before the pandemic, both churches already collaborated by providing free medical treatment in that area besides distributing basic necessities. Let’s pray that this kindness act will be a testimony that reflects the love of Jesus.
Ps Henry and his wife together with the members of IFGF Toronto have shown compassion to those in need. The distance between those cities isn’t an hindrance for them to bless the people of Tanjung Balai Karimun who are truly in need.
