TOLERANCE IN DIVERSITY
On Friday 31 July, Moslems around the world celebrated Eid al-Adha. In Indonesia, in the spirit of tolerance between religions and to nurture the good relationships that has been established, Ps. Jimmy Oentoro on behalf of IFGF donated a cow to Soko Tunggal Abdurrahman Wahid Islamic Boarding School in East Jakarta, Indonesia. This donation was given a day before Eid al-Adha by Ps. James Laibahas as IFGF representative and the donation was received by a child of KH Gus Nuril.
Dr. KH Nuril Arifin Husein and Ps. Jimmy Oentoro has a long history of friendship and both of them have been advocates for unity and peace in Indonesia. In 2015, they made a music collaboration as a campaign for inter-religions peace in Indonesia through Harvest Music label.
This acts as a reminder that as God’s children we have to bring peace and unity to our community and the country we live in.
