NEW SEASON, NEW CHANCES
Welcome to a new season, parents and kids!
As we enter the new school year and children move on to higher levels of education, feelings such as fear, worry, confusion, and excitement about what lies ahead are bound to arise. All these feelings are normal when facing something new because we don’t yet know what will happen in the future.
But let’s see how we can face all these challenges with enthusiasm and faith because a new season is not just about the passage of time, but also about opportunities to learn and grow. Every new season truly brings the chance to start something fresh. When we move to a higher level or into a new season, we are like seeds beginning to grow into strong plants.
So this is the right time to expand knowledge, build new relationships, and explore deeper interests within each individual. As Revelation 21:5 says, “I am making everything new!”, so we can remember that every day is a new opportunity that God gives us, to make us better and bring us closer to Him.
1. Start with Prayer and Submission to God
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
(Proverbs 3:5 NIV)
Starting a new school year can make us anxious, but we don’t have to face it alone. God is always there to give us strength and courage. That’s why it’s so important to take time to pray before starting the day and surrender everything back to Him.
Pray for His guidance in every step we need to take, and by trusting in Him, we can go through each day with faith and confidence.
2. See Challenges as Opportunities and a Process for Learning
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
(Philippians 4:13 NIV)
Challenges are not our enemies; they are part of the learning process. When we face difficulties, remember that God is always with us, giving us strength. He will help us overcome each challenge and even provide victory once we have passed through them. So don’t give up when something feels difficult to accomplish.
Believe that the challenges we face today will shape us into stronger individuals in the future and that every effort we make will surely bear fruit. Moreover, every new experience, whether good or bad, is also an opportunity to learn. So don’t hesitate to ask questions or seek information. Every question is a step toward better understanding, and when we are brave enough to ask, we demonstrate a desire to learn.
3. Have a Good and Supportive Community
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
(1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV)
A new season also means an opportunity to meet new friends and form a new community. This is the perfect time to expand our network of friendships. So be friendly and open to forming new relationships, and remember to support one another.
Be courageous in choosing which friends are good for you and which are not. Seek out friends who share the same foundation of truth and live by it. When a supportive community surrounds us, no matter how difficult the challenges ahead may be, we know there will always be someone to support and strengthen us, while keeping us aligned with the purpose God has for us.
With the three things mentioned above, the new season we are about to enter can become an opportunity for growth and victory. Are you ready to step into this new season?
