IFGF Global

At the outset, the committee of IFGF Men Semarang initially planned to create a recurring seminar event for the participants of 'Iron Man'. However, following Pastor Indra Puspa's input, it was eventually decided to organize a refreshing event to relieve men from their daily routines in family, work, and ministry. In short, we found a suitable camping site at Posong Nature Tourism, located in the valley of Mount Sindoro and Sumbing (Temanggung, Central Java). The sound of the wind among the trees and the cool air convinced us that the participants would have a unique experience compared to their usual routines. The long-awaited day finally arrived, and the committee and participants set off for the nature destination. Although there were initially some challenges with the motorcycle drivers in the area who did not allow us to use cars before their designated time, thankfully, through negotiations, it was eventually resolved satisfactorily. Upon arriving at the location, participants were invited to join an icebreaker to get to know each other better. After that, they entered the tents, which were mostly orange in color, with a capacity for two people per tent. Smiles and enthusiasm could be seen from the participants with this new experience of sleeping in tents with such a stunning view. Event after event passed and participants were also reminded through a session of sharing God's word about the role and responsibilities of a man as a husband and father in the family. The evening continued with a chilling breeze, concluding with a bonfire and a delightful barbecue feast. Laughter and jokes filled the atmosphere that night, making the chilly night breeze not feel cold and uncomfortable. We started the second day with renewed enthusiasm and concluded the final session well and enthusiastically. There were many positive impressions from the participants, who were eager to have a similar event next year. We returned to our respective homes with a new fire, a renewed spirit in embracing men who function effectively as husbands and fathers. Source: Olfan Sebastian (Coordinator of IFGF Men Semarang)
