LEADERS GATHERING KALIMANTAN – SUMATRA
Region 12, specifically DPW Kalimantan and Sumatra held another Leaders Gathering, an annual meeting organized by Ps. Erna Iskandar, VP Region 12. This year’s event was held onsite in Bandung on July 31, 2024, and was attended by 60 participants from Sumatra and Kalimantan.
First Session: 7 Leadership Checkpoints Worth Assessing by Ps. Sam Hartanto
The first session was presented by Ps. Sam Hartanto, IFGF Global Chairman and Senior Pastor of IFGF Bandung. He shared 7 Leadership Checkpoints Worth Assessing, which explained seven important aspects of leadership that every leader needs to evaluate to increase their effectiveness and influence.
Here are the main points of the session:
1. Authority and Power
Bringing change to the people around you while maintaining personal boundaries.
2. Accountability
Leaders who are responsible for their own spiritual life.
3. Responsibility
Leaders who are responsible for the people they lead and live and grow with.
4. Humility
Not judging but empowering.
5. Integrity
Bold to speak the truth.
6. Transferability
A leader who can share his life and experiences with others so that they are more productive.
7. Resolvability
A leader needs strength, decisiveness, and consistency in solving every problem.
By practicing these 7 things, a leader can continue to grow together with the people in their environment.
Second Session: Multiplying Leaders with Coaching by Mr. Antakirana
The next session was led by Mr. Antakirana, founder and CEO of PT Komunika Cipta Performa, who discussed the topic of Multiplying Leaders with Coaching. In this session, he explained how to support and encourage others and yourself.
Mr. Antakirana explained the 5 roles of a leader to multiply, namely:
1. Training
Transferring knowledge to others.
2. Mentoring
Sharing experience.
3. Counseling
Healing emotions through counseling.
4. Consulting
Providing solutions.
5. Coaching
Creating awareness through the Coaching Conversation Model, namely COACH; Context (determining the topic), Outcome (identifying the expected goal), Actual (evaluating the current situation), Choices (developing ideas or options), and How to (creating a detailed action plan).
After attending this Leaders Gathering, each leader was expected to implement the learning in their leadership and multiply leaders in their churches.
