Better Together

Better Together

After 16 months being in lockdown and not able to meet in person, IFGF Seattle, USA held their first in-person Family Care Group gathering during the July 4th weekend. The event was held in a park with 2 – 3 new families attending the care group. Everyone was excited to be able to meet again. It is really better to be together as we are created to be part of a community, not to be isolated.

Food, activities and games were part of the gathering. Ps. Irwan Ngadisastra built competition-sized corn hole boards and he also organized the competition where the winners received prizes from Amazon. It was indeed a fun day.

Other than having fun and sharing food, the care group also took time to pray for their family members and friends who are still struggling during this pandemic. We don’t lose heart as we know that this situation will pass.

Through it all, we learn that being in a community is important. God places people around us to help us grow better, just as we are called to help them grow. In a spiritual community like iCare, we learn to share our life as we care for one another and grow together as Christ’s followers. Being connected to fellow believers is crucial indeed.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
