Powerful Prayer
Imagine how powerful your relationship with Jesus is, if you have the right strategy in your prayer life that will impact your whole life: personal, family, work, ministry and mental health!
One important step that we can do together is to build a continuous personal conversation with God during our daily lives! Just as we need to breathe continuously, our prayer lives need so too.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:18)
Here are 3 practical steps for building a continuous prayer lifestyle which will impact how you will experience God’s power in your lives:
- Build continuous conversation with God
“Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads.” (Ephesians 6:18)
“Never stop praying! (Pray all the time!)” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Stay connected with God by lifting up short prayers at all times. Your prayer could be as short as a breath such as “God, You’re so good!”, “Help me to make the right decision during this meeting!”, “Bless my work, O Father.”
- Schedule your prayer time(s)
“Seven times a day I praise you!” (Psalm 119:164). Some practical things include starting the day with a prayer, reading 1 chapter from Psalm and praying during the day using the verses, make the verses you’ve read from Psalm as your personal prayer. Joining a prayer meeting can also strengthen your spirit and refresh your soul.
- Turn the events around you into intercessions
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people (1 Timothy 2:1). As you read the newspaper, watch TV or smartphone, use the opportunity to pray for the topics/names that God put in your heart. If you’re involved in a conversation and feel the urge to pray from what you’ve heard, do it. The intercession prayers that you lift wholeheartedly will bring great impact in others’ lives.
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
