Ayah Hadir
Last November 28, 2022, IFGF Surabaya had the opportunity to be served by Rev.Yerry Pattinasarany. He is the son of the football coach, Ronny Pattinasarany. Previously, he was trapped in narcotics, psychotropics, and illicit drugs and finally experienced healing because of the presence of his father, who was willing to decide to stop being a coach to help his son.
The presence of a father has a significant impact on his life and makes him realize how important a father’s role is in raising a child because his real future is not in the hands of a young man but in the hands of a father. Therefore, he is building the #AyahHadir movement (The presence of father), inviting fathers to be physically, emotionally, and spiritually present for their children.
Indonesia is referred to as one of the countries included in the category of a fatherless country or a “lacking fathers country.” A fatherless country is marked by a condition or symptom of its society in the form of a tendency to have no role and involvement of a father figure significantly and warmly in a child’s daily life at home.
Therefore, IFGF Men, in collaboration with IFGF Parenting, wants to equip parents, especially fathers, and fathers-to-be, through this seminar. And on this occasion, he reminded every parent, especially fathers, to set the right priorities and how important it is to build a relationship with God. We need God to tear down the ego so that we have the humility to learn and love.
We need to save the next generation not by giving birth to new generations but by educating them. They didn’t ask to be born; we are responsible for their birth. Because if parents give up on their children’s lives, who will be responsible? We as parents have been children, but they have never been parents, and it will be difficult for them to understand us compared to us trying to understand them.
The intimacy between a father and his child will provide a sense of security and comfort in a child’s life. And the most beautiful gift for children is to love our wives, to give a beautiful picture of love and introduce them to the true figure of the father, namely the Father in Heaven. If some may not have a father figure, remember that we have a Father in Heaven.
We are truly blessed and strengthened through the ministry of Rev. Yerry Pattinasarany, not only being a good parent but how to instill the truth of God’s Word in our family and to save our future generations.
