Gathering of DPW Kalimantan – Sumatera
From August 2-3, 2023, the DPW of Kalimantan and Sumatera (Region 12) held an onsite gathering in Bandung, the city of flowers. This event was attended by approximately 70 participants from Kalimantan and Sumatra, as well as several guests from other cities.
On the first day of the gathering, August 2, 2023, attendees were equipped by several pastors from IFGF Global. Ps. Erna Iskandar (VP for the Sumatera & Kalimantan Region) kicked off the day by presenting a one-year work report for the Kalimantan-Sumatera DPW, covering activities from August 2022 to July 2023. The report highlighted various accomplishments, such as ongoing training programs, pastoral appointments, church construction, and the CGSL movement, which led to many conversions and the emergence of new leaders. This progress was attributed to the collaboration between DPW Management and local church pastors.
Ps Sam Hartanto (General Chairperson of IFGF Global), one of the speakers, discussed the distinction between exclusive and inclusive ministry approaches in the church. His insights aimed to help attendees make their ministries more effective and foster new leaders.
The day’s activities continued with Ps Jonathan Kasmin (Secretary-General of IFGF Global), who presented on “Counseling 101,” covering the basics of counseling services. The day concluded with a fellowship dinner, attended by Ps Jimmy Oentoro and Mrs. Jenny Oentoro. Participants thoroughly enjoyed the day’s events.
On the second day, pastors and leaders embarked on a joint tour to tourist areas in Lembang, West Java. The group visited two locations: the Floating Market and The Great Asia-Africa. Participants were enthusiastic and found the experience enriching for building relationships within the community.

After the gathering concluded, participants took time to rest and prepare for the upcoming IFGF Conference on August 4-5, 2023, also to be held in Bandung.
