LOVE AFRICA FEEDING PROGRAM
People is Our Mission – a vision of IFGF Global which became the base of “LOVE AFRICA FEEDING PROGRAM” by IFGF Sierra Leone, Africa, in which 12 metric tonnes of rice was distributed. IFGF Sierra Leone is the operational office for IFGF in the West Africa region. The “Love Africa Feeding Program” acted as a door to connect, lead, shape, change and gain knowledge to be a leader for this generation.
The project assisted around 2.471 people from 495 households living within IFGF’s operational areas, Freetown, Kono and Bo. This is an emergency response towards the starvation and financial poverty that happened due to Covid-19. Continuous lockdown which limited the movements between areas had pushed the community, who are mostly farmers, to plant their own food and be self-sufficient.
The aid came from our sister churches; IFGF Austin, USA and IFGF Bandung, Indonesia worked together with the World Harvest, USA. As a facilitator, Ps. Herman TP Ong stated that the aid would assist families for the “IFGF Sack Farming” project. This project encourages families to grow and produce their own food in a safe way.
An overwhelmingly positive response was shown during this “Love Africa Feeding Program”. Madam Finda Saque from IFGF Kono testified that the aid was on time and reminded her of how Jesus fed 5000 people. Ps. Robinson Foday from IFGF Bo shared that this ministry which was given to the community will become a platform to share the Gospel.
Thank you to all donors and volunteers who took part in the “Love Africa Feeding Program”. May this program not only feed the physical being of those who received it, but it also touches their spirits.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.
