IFGF GLOBAL LAUNCHES A COMMUNITY OF SUPPORT FOR WOMEN IN A NEW SEASON OF LIFE
IFGF Global held the inaugural gathering of “Sahabat Pengharapan,” a community created specifically for women who are IFGF Licensed Pastors, as well as wives of IFGF Licensed Pastors whose husbands have passed away.
Sahabat Pengharapan was established as a space where members can support and strengthen one another, build meaningful relationships, and continue growing together in faith. Through this community, each member is encouraged to walk through every season of life while holding on to the hope and presence of God.
The community is led by Pdt. Em. Hanna Kristanto and currently consists of 13 women from the IFGF Global family. Eight participants attended the inaugural gathering and shared a warm, open, and supportive time together.
More Than My Story
The first gathering featured Pdm. Lina Waharti as the speaker, who shared a session titled “More Than My Story.”
Through the session, participants were invited to look again at their life journeys not only through the events of the past, but from the perspective of their identity, hope, and the work God continues to do in their lives.
One part of the session invited participants to take a personal self check-up. They were encouraged to reflect on how they see their own worth, accept their current circumstances without continually blaming themselves, maintain hope for the future, acknowledge when they feel tired or need help, and make room to care for themselves amid the responsibilities of life.
The session also emphasized the importance of not allowing failures or past experiences to define one’s identity. Participants were reminded that they do not always have to appear strong, but can have trusted people with whom they can share and walk through life together.
Above all, the confidence that God remains present and continues to have a good plan for their lives became the foundation for moving forward.
My Identity Is in Him
Through the Word of God in Isaiah 41:10, participants were reminded that God is present to strengthen, help, and uphold His people.
The session then led to one of its central messages: “My Identity Is in Him.”
A person’s identity is not defined merely by what they do, what they have, or the experiences they have gone through. Their identity is rooted in God, who created them, knows them, loves them, and calls them His own.
My Story Is Not Over
The message “My Story Is Not Over” also became an encouragement that loss does not mark the end of life’s entire journey.
Drawing from Isaiah 43:18–19, participants were invited to believe that God is still able to do something new and make a way in the next season of their lives.
The session concluded with a reminder that every new chapter still has the same Author: God. Every page has a purpose, every season carries meaning, and every journey can reveal His faithfulness.
The inaugural gathering marked the beginning of a community that is expected to be more than simply a place to meet. Sahabat Pengharapan is intended to become a safe space for sharing stories, building friendships, supporting one another, and growing together in God.
Through this community, IFGF Global hopes that every woman walking through life after the loss of her spouse can rediscover the strength and hope to move forward knowing that she does not walk alone, that her identity remains secure in God, and that her story is not over.
