Keep growing and bearing fruits

Covid-19 pandemic has pushed everyone around the globe to readjust themself and to think of ways to continue living in this so-called “new normal”. As children of God, we are not called to stay still and wait but rather, we have to make the most of our days. This is especially true for our spiritual life. While church buildings are closed, church services are available through online platforms and thus we have no reason to isolate ourselves from the church. A pandemic should not be a reason for spiritual dryness. IFGF Semarang, Indonesia has a wonderful story of spiritual growth during this pandemic.

From the beginning of the year up to August 2020, we have seen 104 people as covenant and 34 of them in this month are from IFGF Semarang. During August IFGF Semarang had 7 baptisms which brought the total number of baptisms to 41 for the year.

IFGF Semarang is also experiencing  growth in iCare members although the majority of iCare is still done through online platforms. As iCare members increase, new leaders are needed to facilitate new iCare. In August 2020, IFGF Semarang had appointed 148 new iCare Leaders and Core Team Leaders. The appointment and anointing prayer was done online following health protocol regulation.

As a local church, IFGF Semarang is blessed by new church members who decided to be born again and decided to commit to the church and iCare. Let us not drift away from Jesus and his church despite all the challenges we are facing right now. Let us stick to Jesus and his church, a healthy community that can help us grow.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
