TYC CAMP 2024
On June 16, 2024, IFGF REGION 14 held a TYC (Teens Youth College) Camp in North Sulawesi and Gorontalo, Indonesia. Ps. Aaron Myers, the Head of Department TYC Region 14, witnessed a deep hunger for God in the heart of the young generation.
These camp participants were not just interested in another event or fascinated by a special guest speaker and the praise team, they were there because of a desire to encounter God. Even though some of them drove for nine hours and slept on the ground in old military tents, they still participated in TYC Camp 2024.
Ps. Aaron said, what drew them was not the programs, but a touch from God. Even though TYC had fun and games, it was never the heart of it. TYC had teaching and discipleship, but nobody taught and discipled like the Holy Spirit.
Ps. Aaron also shared the importance of guiding young people to follow the Holy Spirit. As leaders in the Next Generation Department, our role is to support and align with what the Holy Spirit is already doing in the lives of these young individuals.
“TYC Camp in itself is nothing special. Games, sessions, and a couple of army tents. That’s it. But when we “come, bow down in worship”, He will take care of “the people of his pasture, the flock under his care” (Ps 95:6-7). In the end, all the teens, youth, and college kids are His, not ours. We are just here to point the way. ”
