Training “Alive in Clarity – Healthy Church Healthy Family” & Conducting “Marriage Check Up”
On Friday, February 25, 2022, Region 12 had a training titled “Alive in Clarity – Healthy Church, Healthy Family” and a marriage check up for pastors and their spouses in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Jabodetabek, Makassar & Jogja. This training was given by Ps. Sam Hartanto, IFGF Global President, and Ps. Jonathan Kasmin, IFGF Global General Secretary.
73 pastors and their spouses participated in this training. Ps. Erna Iskandar, VP Region 12, explained that the purpose of this training is to enable each IFGF pastor in building a healthy marriage. For we know that being a pastor is challenging and a pastor’s family is on display.
Ps. Sam shared 4 important points in marriage:
- Communication
- Relationship
- Finance
- Independency
Communication is a key in building a healthy marriage. Trust, love and honesty are some factors that glue a relationship yet without good communication, those factors seem useless. The fact that we can’t read what is in other’s minds, makes communication an important key that can affect the harmony of our marriages.
The day continued with Ps. Jonathan who gave the marriage check up to all attendees.
Hopefully through this training each pastor and spouse can clearly see the health condition of their marriage. By having a healthy marriage, pastors can minister the church better. And by having a healthy marriage, they can be living examples for the church.
