Water Baptism in the Month of Love
In the second month of 2022, IFGF churches around Indonesia held water baptisms despite the pandemic that is still ongoing in the country. Water baptism is one of the church sacraments that has existed since the 1st century. In the Bible, it is written that when Jesus Christ was on earth He was also baptized by John the Baptist.
Started from IFGF Muhiolo in Gorontalo who was baptizing 3 church members on Sunday, February 13. Then on February 14, IFGF Padang held a baptism ceremony at Grace Hill, Lubuk Minturun, for 4 of its members. Baptisms were also held in IFGF Tual, IFGF Tobelo, IFGF Ratahan, IFGF Mapanget, IFGF Palmerston North and IFGF Cianjur.

Water baptism is one step of faith in which one is declaring that Jesus Christ is the only Lord and Savior in his life. Baptism symbolizes our old life that is buried with Jesus’ death (as we enter the water) and is resurrected together with Jesus Christ (as we emerge from the water), through God’s glory and receiving new life in Christ Jesus.
“and this water symbolizes baptism that
– 1 Peter 3:21 –
now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body
but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.
It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,”
