On Tuesday, November 8, 2021 IFGF Bandung held the 2021 Leaders Meeting which was also a Thanksgiving celebration for the church. Titled Rebirth, the meeting was designated for coaches, care group leaders and core team leaders.
Rebirth was opened with a video which depicted the difference between care groups in the old time and now. After the video, Ps. Jonathan Kasmin led the opening prayer and afterwards, the event continued with an orchestral performance of The Prayer. The attendees were then led into a worship session.
There was also a talk show hosted by Matthew from College Community. This talk show invited 5 speakers including 2 speakers who attended online. These speakers are care group leaders and core team leaders of IFGF Bandung. During the talk show, they discussed various things on leading care groups. The discussion also included stories on leading kids care groups from IFGF Kids. For in fact, being in a care group is not only for adults but also for kids because ‘connect with God and make disciples’ is IFGF vision for everyone.
After the talk show, Ps. Sam Hartanto, senior pastor of IFGF Bandung and current President of IFGF Global, shared God’s words. Ps. Sam emphasized that each of us needs to know, live and align with the Holy Spirit. There are 5 things that we need to understand and remember:
- Never neglect the prompt of the Holy Spirit
- Never despise the wisdom of the Holy Spirit
- Never ignore the compassion of the Holy Spirit
- Never operate without the power of the Holy Spirit
- Never grow old without being changed by the Holy Spirit
Care group is more than just a gathering to chat or dine together. Care group is a place where we can strengthen and comfort each other, and to encourage each other to be more like Jesus. At the end, our goal is to share Jesus through our lives so many more people would know Him and receive Him as their Lord and saviour.
I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.
