Be Real in Jesus
Last month on July 16 -18, 2021, IFGF Auckland, New Zealand held a youth retreat which is fondly called “The Kiwis”. It was a long awaited event as the youths haven’t been able to gather due to Covid-19 restriction. Following government rules, the retreat was able to be held and 45 people participated in this retreat. Ps. Gerald and Ps. Yonathan were also present in the retreat.
The theme for this youth retreat was Be Real in Jesus. Together, the participants learnt to know Jesus deeper through different perspectives. Ps. Ben Mays from Life Church shared a message that reminded the youths that God’s presence is a place where they can be real. God will never deny our presence and He will always joyfully welcome us into His arms. There should not be a single reason for us to not come into Him. Ps. Ben explained the evil’s lies which are intimidation and deceptions, which aim to ruin our relationship with our Heavenly Father. We are the chosen people as 1 Peter 2:9 stated.
On the second night of the retreat, the participants joined in a praise & worship session. The presence of the Holy Spirit was apparent during the session as many participants experienced deliverance, gladness and peace. It was indeed a wonderful night as fellow believers praised and worshipped Jesus together.
The work of the Holy Spirit did not end at the retreat because many of the youths decided to start ministering after the retreat. They were passionate to serve Jesus and His church. Many also decided to be baptised as a declaration of their faith to make Jesus as their only Lord and saviour.
Let the passion for God continue to be alive in these youths as they share His love to others.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
