Chinese New Year Celebration at IFGF Manado
This year’s Chinese New Year celebration falls on Sunday, January 22, 2023. To celebrate this event, one of the IFGF churches in Indonesia, IFGF Manado, is holding a Chinese New Year celebration in Sunday worship.
In the Sunday service, with the atmosphere of this Chinese New Year celebration, IFGF Manado invited Ps. Aaron and Ev. Jagry Waani to share God’s Word. On that occasion, Ps. Aaron and Ev. Jagry Waani preached about transformation. Transformation is not just about reading, let alone discourse, but something we must do if we want to experience it.
And as we know, one thing synonymous with Chinese New Year is angpao. In the Chinese language, angpao comes from two syllables, ” ang ” red and “pao” which means envelope. So, if taken literally, angpao means red envelopes. Angpao was distributed to around 150 children at the church.
I am grateful that the worship service could run smoothly and the congregation felt blessed, and the children were also happy that besides listening to God’s word, they also got a small gift – angpao on this Chinese New Year. So let’s pray that IFGF Manado will continue to shine in God.
