Zoom Meeting IFGF Pastors with Ps. Jimmy Oentoro dan Apostolic Team
Ps. Jimmy Oentoro and IFGF Apostolic Team held an online vision and mission casting for IFGF churches worldwide. To cater for time differences between IFGF churches and to ensure the effectiveness of this event, 3 separate meetings were held as follow;
- Thursday, 27 August for Asia, Qatar and Oceania
- Friday, 28 August for Region 6, Europe and Ecuador
- Wednesday, 2 September for USA and Canada
The meeting was started with a recap from our recent online conference, with a short discussion on challenges experienced, inputs and participants responses and testimonies. Statistically, IFGF Conference 2020 had a high number of young participants which makes it safe to assume that IFGF church regeneration is well on track.
After hearing about the report from IFGF Conference, Ps. Jimmy continued with the next topic. Ps. Jimmy shared about how the church of Christ should act during the current pandemic. He reminded the leaders that church is never close because we are the church. As seen from a study by Bilangan Research, during this pandemic churches are growing significantly. The next generation is stepping up to take part in the church’s work. Discipleship is also playing an important part in this new normal era. Husbands and fathers are doing their roles as spiritual leaders in their homes. We don’t need to worry about church building as the most important focus in our church is the people and the Holy Spirit will help us to serve them. The work is plenty outside of the walls and as a church we need to prepare a new wine skin.
Our first and foremost calling is to be Jesus’ disciple and to disciple others as written in Matthew 28:19-20. May we grow in Him and walk with Him daily. If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask it from God who will give it generously.
In this meeting Ps. Jimmy also delivered the new theme for September and October 2020, Game Plan. Game Plan will talk about God’s will in every man’s plan. James 4:13-16 says Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.
May this be a reminder for us that our main calling is to be His disciple and to disciple others.
