Second wave of Covid-19 in India

Second wave of Covid-19 in India

Covid-19 pandemic has not ended and the effect of this pandemic is apparent worldwide. One of the world’s emerging countries, India, recently experienced the second wave of this pandemic and required assistance to overcome it. World Harvest responded quickly to this call.

One of the main issues during this second wave is the scarcity of Oxygen supply for the patients. For this reason, World Harvest donated an Oxygen Concentrator machine which was funded by the donors and IFGF churches.

As of June 11, 2021, World Harvest has received US$13,801.67 where as much as US$8,318 of is a collective donation from IFGF San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Scranton, Harrisburg and Qatar under Ps. Fendy Hutomo’s coordination (IFGF San Francisco Senior Pastor).

Around $3000 of the total donation has been distributed in the form of groceries to 150 families in Mumbai slums, a highly populated and poor area. A fund of $10,801 was used to purchase 24 units of Oxygen Concentrator. World Harvest is planning to donate 60 Oxygen Concentrator machines to Guntur, Andhra Pradesh State. Ps. Syamson Kolagani as World Harvest Community Leader for the area is the supervisor for this project. Out of the 60 machines planned, 20 machines have arrived and are now being used by the Covid-19 patients. The other 40 machines were scheduled to be sent on Friday, 11 June and arrived on Sunday, 13 June.

For your information, each Oxygen Concentrator machine costs US$454 including custom tax and shipping fee. At this stage, only 24 out of 60 machines were paid although all the machines have been sent to India. If you are called to help, a donation can be made through https://www.worldharvest.cc/disaster-relief.

We are grateful for your willingness to give! The truth is: some people are able to breathe today because of you!

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.
