Visitation to Youth Detention Center, Tomohon
Region 14 has a monthly program to visit detention centers around Tomohon. Once or twice a month, they will visit either the detention center in Manado, the youth detention center in Tomohon or the women detention center in Tomohon. This is the ministry and calling that God has put in Region 14, to show love, moral support and hope to the offenders.
In July, the ministry visited the youth detention center in Tomohon. 2 care groups, Winangun and Pineleng, participated in this visitation. Praising and worshiping with the juvenile offenders is a wholesome experience. Especially when we see that these kids do it wholeheartedly. During the visitation, the word of God was also shared with the hope that the kids will grow knowing the truth, and understanding that God loves them fully. The message of hope of a bright future was also shared to them.
The care group members also prayed for each child in the center. They prayed for the kids to walk in the path of God’s truth and to become a great man/woman of God.
God loves everyone, including the young offenders in the detention center. It is our duty as Christ’s followers to share Jesus’ love to others and share the hope that Jesus promises. He is the truth and He is the love. He is the God who always fulfills His promise.
