IFGF KIDS COORDINATORS & LEADERS RETREAT: TUNING IN, TEAMING UP
Bogor witnessed an incredible gathering of kids’ ministry leaders from various cities! From February 13-15, 2025, IFGF Kids coordinators and leaders came together at Hotel Asyana Sentul for a retreat.
With the theme “Tuning In, Teaming Up”, this retreat was more than just a biennial event—it was a journey to hear God’s voice more clearly (Tuning In) and build stronger teamwork (Teaming Up) in kids’ ministry.
The attendees weren’t just from one or two cities but from various regions across Indonesia, including:
IFGF Jakarta, IFGF Bogor, IFGF Bekasi, IFGF Karawaci, IFGF Cilincing, IFGF Bandung, IFGF Semarang, IFGF Yogyakarta, IFGF Surabaya, IFGF Surabaya-Gading, IFGF Medan, IFGF Medan Kota, IFGF Padang, IFGF Palembang, IFGF Lampung 2, IFGF Pekanbaru, IFGF Manado, and IFGF Makassar.
The retreat was filled with deep learning, spiritual experiences, exciting games, and heartwarming fellowship!
“Why is he always so serious? Why does one like to organize, while the other is more relaxed?” In the Personality Insights for Building Stronger Teams session, Master Trainer Morris T. opened our eyes to the fact that every personality in a team has its role. Through the DISC test, we learned about ourselves and how to interact and collaborate with others. Differences shouldn’t be a source of conflict but a strength to be managed!
“Have we ever served out of obligation? Has our heart become numb in ministry?” In The Right Heart session with Ps. Joshua Artono, we reflected on the condition of our hearts in ministry. Through prayer and deep worship, we experienced a personal encounter with God that refreshed us. We were reminded that having the right heart is far more important than doing many things.

Who says working in a team is always easy? In Struggles to Strength session, Ps. Ancella Gunawan reminded us that every team will face differences, weaknesses, and even chaos. But this is where God works—to shape our character and build strength. When we seek to understand, accept, and grow together, ministry will become even stronger!
Discipleship is not just about teaching the Word—it’s about shaping children’s character and faith. In Discipleship Church Starts from Kids Ministry session, Ps. Jonathan Kasmin led us in learning how to build clear, creative, and Christ-centered discipleship. With five key principles—Clarity, Creativity, Counsel, Coaching, and Christ-Centered—we discovered how to lead children deeper in knowing God.
Is our ministry truly making an impact? Kids’ ministry is not just about running Sunday school or big events. In Measuring the Impact of Children’s Ministry session, Ps. Sam Hartanto challenged us to evaluate the real impact of IFGF Kids. Are children growing spiritually? Are families being transformed? Does the church and community feel the difference? An impactful ministry is not just active but also transformative!
What if children were not only taught the Word but also trained to hear God’s voice and serve? In Generational Leader Reaching 1000 session, Ps. Evan Tjandra reminded us to train children to be sensitive to God’s voice. We also discussed practical and concrete steps to empower IFGF Kids.

Amazing Race: Fun, Challenging, and Team-Building!
Walking, thinking, laughing, sweating, and working together—the Amazing Race at this retreat truly tested our teamwork! Each team had to complete various unique challenges that sharpened creativity and communication. There were physical challenges, strategic games, and even mind-boggling puzzles! The highlight was that we had to build a symbolic house using materials collected from each challenge—a powerful reminder that ministry is something we build together, not alone.

This retreat was not just about learning and playing but also about building relationships. We shared stories, challenges, and praise reports from different IFGF Kids ministries across various cities. There were laughter, tears, and prayers that strengthened each other. During the praise and worship session, God’s presence was so real among us! And of course, the food was abundant and delicious!
Three days and two nights felt so short, but the impact will last a lifetime. We returned home with clearer vision, hearts more connected to God, and a stronger, more united team.
Tuning In, Teaming Up is not just a theme—it’s a commitment to:
- Hear God’s voice more clearly
- Build strong and impactful teams
- Serve the kids with the right heart.
IFGF Kids, let’s keep growing and be a light for this generation! See you at the next retreat! 🚀🔥
