Online PESTA of IFGF Kalimantan and Belitung
In the midst of Working From Home condition, Region-1 DPW Kalimantan decided to hold Strategic Training (PESTA) through the online platform. This training was focusing on Discipleship, Generation & IFGF Apps (Church & Data) and was attended by 150 participants.
Attended by all pastors and leaders (L1 – L2) of IFGF Kalimantan, including Belitung, the first session was held on Thursday, 21 May 2020 from 13.00 – 16.00. In this first session Ps Sam Hartanto (General Secretary of IFGF Global) shared about “The 6 Things to be Communicated with IFGF iCare Leaders in this Covid Season”. Ps Sam shared practical examples that could be done during this pandemic such as assisting church members who need help in accessing online service, City iCare project done by IFGF Bandung, and opening 5 new IFGF iCare Groups during this pandemic.
The second session titled “Watering The Roots” was delivered by Ps. Jimmy Oentoro (President of IFGF Global). Ps. Jimmy shared we are in the right time to reset and rebuild our life foundation, system and healthy roots; family, ministry and business included. Furthermore Ps. Jimmy mentioned IFGF Life Structure; building Discipleship Culture – Grow Culture – Ministry Culture – PIOM (People is Our Mission) through ministry in Art (A), Business (B), Church (C), Digital Media (D), Education (E), Family (F), Government (G). Church should also build its community through IFGF iCare Group and delegation of leadership in ministry, to raise up more IFGF iCare leaders with the “walk with one” principle.
The second part of the Strategic Training was held on Monday, 25 May 2020 at 09.00 – 12.00 with the topic on “A Generation in Covid19 Pandemic: 5 Reasons Why This Season is Invaluable”. Ps. Ancella Gunawan from IFGF Kids Global shared ideas for teachers to be creative in delivering teaching material and programs for kids. Ps. Victor Repi from IFGF Jakarta Teen Youth and College delivered ideas on how to prepare interesting contents and programs for teen youth and college (TYC). He also shared some examples of programs that had been done in TYC Jakarta that could be implemented in IFGF Kalimantan and Belitung.
Doing training through an online medium didn’t make the participants less excited to learn. The engagement level was high as seen by the many questions asked during each Q&A session. We received good feedback from churches in Kalimantan and Belitung as they gained new insights and ideas from this Strategic Training.
