Oxygen Concentrator for Central Java, Indonesia

Oxygen Concentrator for Central Java, Indonesia

On Saturday, August 14, 2021, IFGF Semarang (Indonesia) in partnership with World Harvest gave Oxygen Concentrators to several polyclinics in Central Java through collaboration with the Management of Central Java Great Mosque (MAJT). This aid aimed to assist polyclinics and hospitals with the much needed oxygen concentrator for Covid-19 patients. There were around 350 machines that were distributed throughout Indonesia and 10 machines for the Central Java Great Mosque.

The presentation of 10 oxygen concentrator machines was delivered by Ps. Budi Hidajat (Senior Pastor of IFGF Semarang) as the representative of IFGF Semarang and World Harvest to Prof. Dr. KH Noor Achmad as the Head of Central Java Great Mosque Management (MAJT).

The procession started with signing the handover document by both parties and a demonstration on how to use the oxygen concentrator machine.

Oxygen concentrator is a machine which is able to filter the surrounding air by compressing the air, filtering out nitrogen and producing continuous pure medical grade oxygen for the patients. Oxygen concentrator is equipped with a special filter that is used to filter our nitrogen and to ensure the production of pure oxygen. The machine has an electronic interface to adjust the oxygen flow and concentration. The patient will require a nose cannula or oxygen mask to be able to breathe the oxygen produced by the machine. In other words, an oxygen concentrator works as an oxygen tank replacement that is commonly used in hospitals. However, an oxygen concentrator can supply unlimited oxygen as long as it has power supply whereas an oxygen tank will need to be refilled once empty.

Some other invitees were also present during the handover ceremony such as Mr. KH Hanief Ismail Lc (Head of Takmir Semarang Great Mosque), Mr. Drs. KH Muhyiddin Mag (Secretary of MAJT), Mr. Zaen Yusuf (2nd Vice Principal of Unwahas), Mr. Dr. Nur Hadi S.E. Akt MM. (Treasurer of MAJT) and some representatives from the polyclinics who received these machines.

After receiving 10 oxygen concentrators, Prof. Noor Achmad distributed them to some polyclinics; 3 units for polyclinic in Central Java Great Mosque, 2 units for polyclinic in Semarang Great Mosque, 2 units for polyclinic in Unwahas, 1 unit for polyclinic in NU Mranggen, 1 unit for Dr. Adib Polyclinic and 1 unit for the polyclinic in Pundenarum Village.

Prof. Noor conveyed his thanks to IFGF Semarang and World Harvest for the aid, as it is very purposeful for the advancement of community’s health.  Especially during these last weeks when oxygen tank supply was rare. Prof. Noor hoped that these machines would assist the polyclinics in handling the Covid-19 situation better.

Thank you to all donors who have done their part and made this project successful. May this donation give breath of life to those who need it.

Dear friends, since God so loved us,
we also ought to love one another.
