IFGF MANADO TYC MISSION TRIP


This year, IFGF Manado mission team with 21 members went on a trip to the land of Southwest Papua from June 27 to July 2, 2024.


The trip started on June 27, when the team departed from Manado and arrived in Sorong, warmly welcomed by Ps. Arthur Kawuwung and some leaders from IFGF Sorong. They immediately went to IFGF Sorong church to prepare for the Youth Revival service at GBIS Aimas, Sorong Regency, which was held at 6 pm WIT. The team was excited to serve the young souls at this event.

The next day, June 28, the team continued the Youth Revival service at GBGP Doom. To reach Doom, they crossed the sea by boat for 5 minutes. The service in Doom became a precious moment for the team, where they could see the enthusiasm of young people who longed for God’s presence.

On June 29, the mission team held a much-anticipated Gen Day (Generation Day) in Kokoda Kilo 8, Sorong City. Around 125 children gathered to play, listen to stories about Jesus, and pray together. The event ended with gift-giving to the children that was also a great blessing and joy to them.

Afterward, the ministry continued in Sago Village, Aimas, where the team ministered to 20 children aged around 8-20 years old, most of them could not read and write. Five of them also suffered from malnutrition and skin diseases. The team lovingly conducted teaching and learning activities for them and provided counseling on self-care, such as bathing, washing hands, and brushing teeth. The team also had the opportunity to pray for each kid to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. This activity ended with gift distribution to every kid. On the same day, the team held a Worship Night event at Youth GKI Klasis 2, located in Sorong City.



On June 30, the team ministered at Sunda Service IFGF Sorong before traveling by boat to Waisai in Raja Ampat. After the service ended, at 2 pm WIT, the team made the two-hour journey to one of the most beautiful places in Indonesia. In Waisai, they held a Youth Revival at GSJA Waisai starting at 6 pm WIT, bringing the fire of revival to the hearts of young people there.

The ministry continued on July 1, with home visits to the homes of the GSJA congregation in Waisai, where the team brought joy and blessings to each home they visited. After the afternoon service, the team returned to Sorong to prepare for their return trip to Manado.
