IFGF MANADO: MAKING FRIENDS THROUGH CULTURAL EXCHANGE
On September 19, 2024, IFGF Manado hosted Friendship Across Borders, a cultural exchange program involving students from SD Tunas Harapan, Malaysia. The program, which lasted about 2 hours, involved 15 6th-grade students who were accompanied by their teacher, principal, and English teacher.
In the series of events, the children were taught about Pen Pal in English. After that, a virtual meeting session was also held involving 3 schools from different locations, namely SD Tunas Kawanua (Manado), a school from Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi), South Sulawesi, and SD Tunas Harapan (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). In this meeting, the children were allowed to introduce themselves to each other as well as the culture of their respective cities. Through this event, the children were very happy because they could make new friends and get to know cultures from other cities or countries.
