Baptism & Church Building Construction
IFGF Jambi’s desire to own a permanent and bigger church building has been answered by God. Previously, the congregation of IFGF Jambi gathered in a 4x10m building. And due to this limited space, the church had no room for the kids to have a kids church.
The initial construction actually started in 2011. However, due to unforeseen circumstances such as financial constraints and being a small congregation, the construction for the new 14x20m building was put on hold. Later on, in 2017-2018, when Ps. Herdy was in charge as the caretaker pastor, the construction for IFGF Jambi’s new building was being restarted until almost reaching completion. Finally in 2019, when Ps. John Harson was appointed as the permanent pastor of IFGF Jambi, the building construction reached its finishing stage to make the church more comfortable for the congregation.
IFGF Jambi is grateful to God for his grace for the whole construction progress. We are also grateful for the support and assistance from the Sumatra Regional Leadership Council; Ps. Erna, Ps. Indra and Ps. Herdy who made the construction possible.
As of today, the new church building is 100% complete. Praise God! Other than this, IFGF Jambi has another good news. On the first Sunday of this October, IFGF Jambi held baptism for 3 children who decided to receive Jesus as their only Saviour. The baptism was held after the Sunday service.
The children who were baptised have completed their iGrow classes. Their families, as well as the whole congregation rejoiced to see their growing faith as they diligently attend Sunday services each week.
Truly we are witnessing God’s goodness through IFGF Jambi.
I rejoiced with those who said to me,
– Mazmur 122:1 –
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
