32nd Anniversary & Pastor Emeritus Ceremony of IFGF Jakarta
On August 8, 2021 IFGF Jakarta celebrated its 32nd anniversary. Throughout the years, IFGF Jakarta has experienced God’s grace for His church. In 32 years, we believe the church is yet to accomplish everything it is destined to do yet we believe, IFGF Jakarta has produced a lot of fruits. We believe that as we continue to walk with God, He will continue to use this church as a tool to shine His light and blessings.
It is indeed by His Grace alone that IFGF Jakarta can walk through the challenges we had faced as a body of Christ. As we surrender in Him and His love, we know that will be strengthened. Remember that this church, IFGF Jakarta, is you. It is us. Let’s build a deeper connection with each other and let’s ignite our spirit to walk in continual transformation. To celebrate this special occasion, IFGF Jakarta sent out gifts to around 2,500 church members who are registered in care groups.
Also happened in August, specifically August 28, IFGF Jakarta held a Pastor Emeritus Ceremony for 3 of its ministers. Emeritus/Emerita Pastor is an honour title given to a pastor who has completed their time of ministry. Each pastor (Reverend / Associate / Lay Pastor) who has entered his emeritus will be known as Pastor Emeritus. The 3 ministers who were given the title are:
- Elder Peter Effrien
Peter Effrien has been ministering in IFGF for 25 years, since 1996. He was the Head of RLC Kalimantan & Lampung, Treasurer of IFGF Global and IFGF Jakarta, and a pastoral team member of Karawaci Satellite.
- Associate Pastor Rudy Wijaya
Rudy Wijaya has been a pastoral team member of Karawaci Satellite for 21 years. He started his ministry as a pastoral team member of IFGF Jakarta on July 7, 2000.
- Lay Pastor Jonathan Sutopo
Jonathan Sutopo has been a pastoral team member of IFGF Jakarta since March 1, 2001. For 20 years he has been ministering as the pastor of Bekasi Satellite. He is also working as the Treasurer of World Harvest, Lippo Karawaci.
Being an emeritus pastor is not the end of a ministry, but rather a new chapter of life as Pastor Emeritus can continue ministering in IFGF as a volunteer. Thank you IFGF Jakarta Family for being together on this journey. I am, You are, We are the Church.
