Emeritus Ps Gideon Apit Sunanto
Emeritus is an honorary title given to a church pastor who has completed his service. In IFGF, Emeritus could be awarded once a pastor turns 55 years old.
Ps. Gideon Apit Sunanto began his ministry in IFGF Semarang in 1999. A year later, in 2000, Ps. Gideon participated in the ministry and pastoring in IFGF Semarang’s satellite. He was then appointed as a full time pastor in 2002, with an appointment to lead the church in IFGF Samarinda (East Kalimantan) from 2003-2020. During his time in IFGF Samarinda, Ps. Gideon also started a church in Balikpapan, which is now known as IFGF Balikpapan.
After 22 years of ministry in IFGF, Ps. Gideon decided to retire from the church to focus on the outreach of marketplace and unreached people groups.
On the evening of July 3, 2022, Region 12 held an online Emeritus Service for Ps. Gideon Apit Sunanto. The service was led by Ps. Erna Iskandar (VP Region 12). Also in attendance, Ps. Jonathan Kasmin (General Secretary of IFGF Global), the congregation of IFGF Samarinda, Region 12 pastors and colleagues of Ps. Gideon from the marketplace.
Congratulations to Ps. Em. Gideon Apit Sunanto for this new season in your ministry. We pray that you will be blessed to become a blessing in wherever and whatever you are working on.
I charge you, in the sight of God and Christ Jesus
