CHOOSE FAITH, NOT FEAR
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
(Isaiah 41:10 NKJV)
In our walk with God, we are constantly presented with two paths: the path of faith or the path of fear. One leads us closer to God’s promises, the other distracts us from them.
The Bible consistently tells us, “Do not be afraid,” not because nothing is frightening in life, but because God is with us in everything. Faith is not denying that storms exist — it’s choosing to trust the One who calms the storm.
1. Fear Paralyzes, But Faith Moves
Fear tells us to stay where we are. It says, “What if you fail? What if God doesn’t come through?” But faith moves forward. In Hebrews 11:1, it says: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith sees beyond the present. It doesn’t wait for proof — it moves based on trust in God’s character. Remember Abraham? He left his home, not knowing where he was going (Hebrews 11:8), simply because God said, “Go.”
2. Fear Looks at the Problem; Faith Looks at the Promise
When the Israelites stood before the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s army behind them, fear saw death, but faith saw deliverance. Moses said in Exodus 14:13, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord…”
Whatever your ‘Red Sea’ may be — a job loss, a scary medical report, a broken relationship — don’t let fear tell you the story. Let faith speak louder. God hasn’t brought you this far to abandon you.
3. God Rewards Faith, Not Fear
In Matthew 8:26, when the disciples feared the storm, Jesus said to them: “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?”
Notice how Jesus links fear and little faith. Faith invites God’s power. Fear pushes it away. When we step out in faith — even if it’s just a small step — we open the door for miracles.
But now the question is, how do we grow faith? Romans 10:17 says: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Faith comes by the word of God.
Fill our hearts with His Word. The more we listen to God’s promises, the less room fear has in our minds. The enemy plants fear through lies, but the truth of God’s Word drives those lies out.

So, my encouragement for everyone — whatever you’re going through — choose faith. Not because it’s easy, but because God is faithful. When fear whispers, “You can’t,” faith declares, “But God can!”
We were not created to live in fear. We were created to walk by faith. The same God who guided David in the valley, who preserved Daniel in the lions’ den, and who raised Jesus from the dead, is with you.
So choose Faith, not Fear. Have faith and fear not. God is for you!
