Baptism at IFGF Indonesia

Baptism at IFGF Indonesia

Water Baptism was held to affirm the congregation’s commitment and give oneself in baptism to believe in Christ’s forgiveness. The word baptism comes from the Greek words Baptizo, Bapto, and Baptisma, which mean to cover something with liquid or to dip something in liquid and then take it out again.

Water baptism was held in several IFGF Indonesia churches in the first month of 2023. First, on January 13, 2023, one of the youth congregations of the IFGF Mariri church was baptized. This church is located in one of the villages in North Sulawesi province. Then on January 28, 2023, IFGF Pematangsiantar baptized a family consisting of parents and their children. This baptism was carried out after a long time. God’s church had preached the gospel to the family. Then the next day, after the gospel was preached, they finally gave themselves to be baptized. And on January 29, 2023, IFGF Cinta Damai baptized 2 people and IFGF Bandung Citylink baptized congregations and young people who longed to give themselves to God and serve Him, with water baptism as proof that they accept Jesus Christ as their only Lord and Savior . Then on January 30, there was one person who gave himself to be baptized at IFGF Pontianak.

It is a great joy to see brothers and sisters in the faith, and even the next generation giving themselves to be baptized and deciding to make the Lord Jesus their Lord and the only savior in their lives. Let’s together, as brothers and sisters in faith, continue to pray that they may grow and be fruitful in God.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
