Water Baptism
In the 3rd month of 2022, water baptisms are ongoing in IFGF churches around the globe. Baptism is one of the signs that we acknowledge Jesus as the only God and Savior. This is according to Mark 1:4, “And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.” Therefore, regardless of the condition we are in, we need to keep having water baptisms.
IFGF Surabaya held water baptisms on 3 different dates; 10, 15, and 16 March. The person who was baptized on March 16 testified that he knew IFGF Surabaya from its online channel. He then participated in IFGF Youth and in the last few weeks, his family came to the onsite Sunday service of IFGF Surabaya. Finally on March 16, he gave himself to be baptized. Wow, this is a testimony of how God can work through anything.
In another city, on Friday, March 11, IFGF Mojokerto also held a water baptism. Then on Sunday, March 13, Ps. Urbanus Sewa of IFGF Ende baptized 7 people. Water baptism happened on March 12 in IFGF Bitung and also happened on March 19 in IFGF Nabire and IFGF Onarai. And then, on March 20 in IFGF Pematangsiantar and on March 22 in IFGF Mariri. On the same day, IFGF Gunma in Japan also held a water baptism. Towards the end of the month, on Saturday, March 26, a water baptism was also held in IFGF Duri. On 27 March IFGF Sydney also held a baptism
We are amazed by the works of His hands. Despite the situation that seems to be unideal, miracles still happen. Looking at our brothers and sisters who gave themselves to be baptized is a great joy indeed!
May the church of God continue to be impactful and able to lead more people to salvation.
And now what are you waiting for? Get up,
– Acts 22:16 –
be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’
